Our ENLACE Central Region supports family centers at Albuquerque High School, Valley High School, and West Mesa High School. Our parent ambassadors support families through outreach including home visits, coaching and mentoring, tutoring, college preparation information, drop-in hours for informal conversation about student concerns, and leadership and professional development. Parent ambassadors encourage family involvement through supplementary services including telephone calls to families, recruiting parent volunteers, organizing workshops, participating in teacher-parent conferences, and providing occasional informal Spanish-English translation services. Family Centers also partner with other University of New Mexico programs including Comadre a Comadre (Hispanic breast cancer awareness program) and the UNM Parent Association.
